Foreigners who stay in Japan for more than 90 days are required by law to
register as a foreign resident, except for those who have an official or
diplomatic visa. Foreign registration must be done in person at the Foreign
Registration Section of the SOWA Main Office. A proxy may apply for those in
special circumstances such as serious sickness or difficulty in walking due to
advanced age, or for those under 16 years of age.
☆ Certificate of Registered Items in the Foreign Resident Registry
Please apply to one of the following：
1.Registration Section, Residents' Affairs Division SOWA Main Office
2. Residents' Affairs Division KOGA Branch Office
3. Residents' Affairs Division SANWA Branch Office
* The issue of certificates detailing the content of the certificate of alien
registration by KOGA Branch Office and SANWA Branch office is limited to items that can be verified.
The certificate will contain the latest information as registered on the
computer, but if you wish to update other information (record of addresses,
etc.), please come to the Foreign Resident Registration Section, Residents'
Affairs Division SOWA Main Office.

Certificate Detailing the Registered Matters of Alien Registration Application Form (please bring some form of identification document with you).
■Notes
Those submitting the application on behalf of the applicant should bring a power of attorney signed by the applicant.
(Family members residing with the applicant are not required an authorization form, but the proxy should submit a document proving his or her name and address when submitting the application.)
