外国籍児童生徒の就学 Entering school for foreign students

日本の義務教育期間は、小学校6年間（満6～12歳）、中学校3年間（満12歳～15歳）の9年間です。

学年は年齢で決められており、4月2日から翌年4月1日までに生まれた人は、同学年になります。

外国籍の保護者にこの義務は適用されませんが、日本の学校への就学を希望すれば、日本人児童生徒と同様に受け入れており、教育を受ける機会を保障しています。

The period of Japanese compulsory education is 9 years: 6 years for elementary school (children aged 6 to 12) and 3 years for junior high school (children aged 12 to 15).

The grade is determined by age: the students born between April 2^nd and April 1^st of the following year are in same grade.

This obligation does not apply to foreign parents / guardians, however, if they wish to attend their children Japanese school, it is secured the opportunity to receive education as Japanese students do.

古河市に住民登録がある児童生徒の保護者に、入学の前年度1月ごろ就学通知書を送付します。就学通知書には入学する学校と入学式の日程などが記載されています。

小学校に入学する児童については、入学前に健康診断があります。児童の保護者あてに、入学する前年度の9月ごろ健康診断の案内が届きますので必ず受診してください。

特別な事情により指定校以外の学校への入学を希望する場合は、教育委員会までご相談ください。

A notice of enrollment will be sent to parents / guardians who have resident registration in Koga city around January of the previous year of admission. And the notification has the schedule of school entrance ceremony on it.

Health check for the children to enter elementary school is scheduled before the enrollment.

The parents / guardians will receive a notification of the health check around September of the previous year of enrollment, so please make sure to take it.

If you wish to change the designated school to a different one for special circumstances, please contact the Board of Education.

古河市役所にて転入の手続きを行い、教育委員会より転入学通知書を受け取ってください。

転入学通知書は入学予定の学校へお渡しいただく書類です。

日本語の指導が必要な場合は、事前に教育委員会へご相談ください。

特別な事情により住民登録ができない方は、身分証をお持ちいただき、教育委員会までお越しください。

Submit a notification of transferring into the municipality at Koga city hall, and receive a notice of school transfer from Koga City Board of Education.

The notice of school transfer is a document to submit into the school that your child will transfer to.

If your child needs instruction of Japanese language, please contact the Board of Education in advance.

If you cannot get resident registration by special circumstances, please come to the Board of Education with your identification.

公立の小学校、中学校の授業料は無償です。

また、小学校、中学校の教科書は無償で給与されます。

給食費や修学旅行などの費用は保護者が支払うことになります。

School fees of public elementary school / junior high school are free.

The text books used at school are also free.

The fees such as school lunch and field trips are responsible to parents / guardians.
